A slightly different version of events is reported here.

In the book "MI6", by Keith Jeffery (page 388) , it says that agent "Henri Leenaerts" was flown in on 17/18 August 1940 but the Lysander which was carrying him was unable to land and was lost on the return flight, killing the pilot and the agent.
