That's not exactly what Nick said; just that after June 1944 TGr.30 had three Sfaffeln.
Same in Pegg's Transporter Vol 2 (I gave just a quick glance) it's clearly said page 159 where "the group had at that time- around 18 of November - between 30 to 35 machines divided between the three Staffeln" (sic)
As for the machine with "K" on rudder ...
Caption page 181 talking about 700628 Code S3+ML !!! and tail unit was a replacement.
...
As for me I can't go beyond this; unless there was two machines having a replacement tail with a "K" on it
