In case of not really tech books, what book might have the most crew accounts? There seems to be Sunderland monographs by Ken Delve (Crowood), Chaz Bowyer and Andrew Hendrie.

For crew accounts I would highly recommend Chaz Bowyers book. Contains excellent accounts of specific areas, accompanied by a detailed collection of photo's.

Chapters are:
Introduction
Pedigree
First Impressions
Skippers View
On The Panel
Novice To Captain
Mods And Modes
The Daily Round
Libyan Episode
One Of Our Aircraft Is Missing
U-Boat Kill
Greater Love Has No Man
Ditched
Stachelschweim
Mercy Angel
Tropical Troubles
Peace And Goodwill
Swangsong
Finale
