Books about jg54

Hello forum members.I was hoping for some help in narrowing my search for a book about JG 54 probably written early mid 90s. My father Hans Reinhardt was corresponding with the author in 1987-9 with some pictures, information, but I never heard a title or author and my father died unexpectedly. The author had written other historical airforce books ,one about the 8th airforce and was nth American if I remember correctly. Not much to go on I know, but any suggestions are helpful. It would be nice to have a read as he was in Jg54 for most of the war.He had trained for the German aircraft carrier and had extended training in kriegsmarine requirement as well, before being enlisted as wingman for Philipp. He was lucky to survive the war having a severe crash in oct 43 when Hans Philipp was killed. He did a number of hours in Me 262 before wars end but no operationally, flew most aircraft including flying boats, and even a meteor after the war, being employed by the British as a translator.Thank you for any help I look forward to suggestions.
