If you look at your text and the one you quote from you are one year out!
The document you quote from is dated 17 Aug 1944 and not 1943.
The French accident thus happened 15 Aug 1944
Yes, the accident is in my loss list, so it seems to be a genuine French report.
Checking further I have now located 41-18271 as a lend-lease aircraft given to France in June 1944. A year made all the difference
