Re: Hermann Jochems Ju87D-5 codes question

Hello Dmitry,

It is great that you were able to find the wreckage after so many years. Were there enough identifiable parts remaining on site that you could confirm the identity of this specific Ju 188?

Does anyone have information about losses of distant reconnaissance crews Ju-88 (Ju-188) over Belarus?

I will take this opportunity to mention that your article in the August 2017 issue of Aviatsiya and Kosmonavtika, the Russian semi-official aviation magazine, makes for a very interesting read. I was not aware of your work when I wrote my blog post, but I am glad we reached very similar conclusions concerning the incident on 20 August. I am struck, after reading the first half of your article, by the fact that so many German aircraft were reported shot down without any attempt being made by Soviet authorities to search for wreckage or crew members. You reflect on this yourself in your excellent article.

Regards,

Dan
