Re: Historical Text on the Origins of WW2 on the Eastern Front - Peer Review Requested
Hello Denes
I think the text is oversimplified in some aspects. I think there should be some more sentences about mutual cooperation until Barbarossa, those including informations about war in Poland, cooperation of Gestapo and NKVD, sabotage of Allied production by communistic trade unions, Allied plans to directly or indirectly attack SU, etc.
Also, it must be noted existence of Hungarian Soviet Republic of Bela Kun, lack of which makes views of Horthy unclear. Bulgaria was never Slavic nation, and Antonescu views were not that unfounded. A number of Soviet soldiers deserted in 1939 to Polish side and fought against Red Army, so it was rather German racial policy and shortseeing that eliminated the possibility.
Any news on Mik Kovacs?
