These photos of a Me 262 A-1b bomber – and that shown in post #260, above – are of the same machine. I suspect that it is from the 110000 werknummer series but the camouflage scheme and national markings have been significantly modified. November 8, 2010 - Messerschmitt Me 262
Per Joe Guzzo: "My father Michael Guzzo served in Europe during WW2, and I have a few pictures of him with a downed ME 262. He was in the 414th Medical Collecting Company and in May of 45 they wound up in Seeshaupt, Germany on Lake Starnberg. In the photo which was taken August 21, 1945 he is on the right of the aircraft with another soldier to the left and boy sitting on the engine. When they set up camp the 262 was there and from what I remember him saying is the townspeople set it up on blocks. He didn't know how or why it was there."
