On 12 April 1944 1st Lt James L. Caviness Jr. (O-24814) was killed in a light plane crash in England, along with the pilot.
He was a liaison officer with HQ Corps Artillery, VII Corps, US Army (see
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...es-m.-caviness).
Looking for more info about this crash, and name of pilot in particular. US Army airplane most likely, so perhaps an L-4 type?
Lt Caviness is buried at the Cambridge American Cemetery. At first sight the other names of 12 April 1944 have no connection with above accident, but text on findagrave seems to suggest that pilot died on a later date.
Thanks for any leads.
Regards,
Leendert
