I mention this incident in my recent article for "Britain at War". Here is the relevant extract:
"Unfortunately, casualties on No 6 Service Flying Training School, Little Rissington, were no exception to that grim rule. Indeed, just a glance at that unit’s records for the mid-August period of 1940 shows a depressing list of losses when, for example, on 17 August 1940 Sgts D Duncan and E W Osbourne lost their lives as Anson L7907 hit trees at Lodge Park, Eastington, during low flying. Two days later and Sgt J S Bell was killed and Sgt D E Paul was injured in the crash of Harvard P5788 at Northleach Lane, Hazelton, during a low-flying exercise........"
