SQUADRONS! No. 70 - The Spitfire XVI - The definitive operational history 1944-1945

Arriving late in the war, the Spitfire XVI took part in the last stages of the war, becoming operational from the autumn 1944 onwards. Sometimes forgotten, the Mk XVI provided valuable support to the ground troops as part of the 2TAF with British, Canadian, Polish, French, Dutch and Belgian squadrons.

In UK, some Australian and British squadrons became also operational on the XVI, attacking V-2 sites during the last weeks of the war.

116 pages, +120 photos, 28 colour profiles.
