Re: Aces at kursk: The battle for aerial supremacy on the eastern front 1943
I wonder how much research the author has done in Russian archives?
Did the Russians really lose 189 aircraft on day 1 or is that just the German claims? From the little I have gathered of Russian claims they were far ahead of reality and had very little to do with German actual losses. If someone buys this book, I would be very interested to know if it lives up to expectations. Cheers Stig |

Re: Aces at kursk: The battle for aerial supremacy on the eastern front 1943
It's the day the Luftwaffe claimed the most victories of the War, I don't remember the number but it's around 400 so 189 is definetely not the German claims.
