R.A.L.C. -a British munitions factory?

Hello friends,

please, who knows the meaning of the acronym R.A.L.C.?
It should be the manufacturer or supplier of the 5,5" Reconnaissance Flare Mk. I during WW2.
I have found metal ammo boxes for sale on eBay also marked R.A.L.C. with the explanation "Royal Army Logistic Core", but Google doesn't know this marked either.

Thank you, Jan

RLC did not exist until 1993 when Royal Corps of Transport, the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, the Royal Pioneer Corps, the Army Catering Corps and the Royal Engineers Postal and Courier Service were amalgamated

It sounds like they are making stuff up because the British Army is not "The Royal Army" (unlike the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force) — although elements of the Army are "Royal" the whole thing is not and the Royal Logistics Corps (no "Army" in the name) has only existed since 1993.

Thank you, my friends, for your immediate response and help.

Please take a look at these links:

or

https://www.m1militaria.co.uk/World-...LC-Storage-Box

it's undoubtedly a British munitions company.

Without wishing to go off-topic there are loads of "Royal Army" titles, eg Royal Army Medical Corps

Re: R.A.L.C. -a British munitions factory?

Having now looked at the pictures, could it be a badly stamped RAOC, ie Royal Army Ordnance Corps?
