Re: Photos Ansaldo Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay are three photos, none of them particularly well posed of Italian aircraft. However, what is interesting is a photo of an Ansalso marked SV 6369 https://www.ebay.it/itm/226450779712...Bk9SR6Dmq4_mZA I wonder if this is the prototype or preproduction machine as it comes from a small batch of aircraft probably numbering six examples at most. The SV rather than SVA tends to suggest possibly the prototype, but if so why preceded by 6368? Regards, Clint Last edited by musec04; 15th November 2024 at 20:55. |

Re: Photos Ansaldo Aircraft
Hi Clint
Very nice find. Never seen any SVA painted without the A. As per Alegi the design was initially only known as the SV (drawn up by two DTAM individuals Umberto Savoja and Rodolfo Verduzio) Ansaldo became the chosen producer with an added A. However the first couple of SVA 1 built were initially only known only as as SV, hence the lack of of an A. If all the initial six MM6368 - 6373 carried only SV is something I don't know. Re: Photos Ansaldo Aircraft
Hi Stig,
Thanks for the reply. I take it we're both working off the same Alergi, WDF 130 Ansaldo SVA Fighters at War.In any case comparing the photos of the SV prototype in that work, I notice that none have the headrest seen in the ebay photo of 6369,though admittedly it could have been added later. WDF 130 also has a photo of 6372 which Gregory Alergi suggests may have been the second SVA shipped to the USA. The type is however not given. I would be interested to know what Casari has for this machine to determine whether it helps in identifying 6369. Regards, Clint |
