Re: Hptm Kurt Liedke

Hello Chris,

If it is possible, I would love to see (or receive) a photo of Liedke too, as he was Staffelkapitän of the 1./NJG 1.

Unfortunately, after Hptm. Reinhold Knacke's death in February 1943, the number of photographs of his Staffel drops dramatically. Therefore I still have no pictures of Knacke's successor Horst Pause and Pause's successor Kurt Liedke.

Many thanks in advance ! Marcel

Re: Hptm Kurt Liedke

Hello Peter,

Thanks for responding, I just recently know that one can request digitized PERS 6 files as well, so I made a 'to do' list of airfield Venlo personalities with their PERS 6 file numbers. Of course Horst Pause, Kurt Liedke and many other 'obscure' people are on my wish list.

Now that I have a priority list, I have heard and read that requests are difficult/not possible because all the files will be moved to BA/MA Berlin, but I will give it a try, perhaps the already digitized files are potentially accessible.

Let's hope that this thread is read by some JG 53 expert who already has Liedkes file...

All the best, Marcel

Re: Hptm Kurt Liedke

Marcel, maybe when you ask personal researcher at Ba-Ma, you can have it within a week?
I strongly advice that becauise PERS files should be out of reach for at least a 1,5 year what I have heard

Re: Hptm Kurt Liedke

If I have a photo it will be from his time with JG 53. As to BA/MA requests, indeed ask someone like Sebastian Remus but I have a feeling you will have to have luck with the closure at the end of the month
