27thFtrGrp tactical markings

I'm trying to establish the tactical aircraft markings for the 27thFG
during the period Jun-'43 thru Jan-'44. This is the period when the
27th was still operating with P-40's.

Any help with this will be most appreciated.

Thanks Mike but in spite of all the excellent data available
on the AAF Forum site the information I need isn't there.

Re: 27thFtrGrp tactical markings

Aren't the markings your looking for the "C9" on the tail? Perhaps contact the artist to see where he got his information.

Re: 27thFtrGrp tactical markings

Mike & Alex,

'C9' appears to be the early tac markings for the 27thFBG.

Thanks to both you guys for your help on this.

Bob
