Uffz Kernchen , 11./JG76

Hello,

I'm looking for any information about Uffz Kernchen from 11./JG 76. I believe he was downed by american P47 over east of France on october 1944. Any information about his fate welcome (Any picture too !).

Any idea about colors of its Me 109 at this date ?

Any help deeply appreciated.

Heuu ... "Bonjour" ... ,

I'm sure JG 76 flew over east of France until mid october and obtained air victories ... and losses ! No need today to give my sources. Just want to see if there are more informations about this unit to identify a crash site.

Oh i'm glad to see JG76 was still there october 44 !

Well my first source came from one american pilot downed after an air combat on october 03 44, who told me that he obtained one victory this day against one Me 109, just before his own crash. He's sure the two planes crashed in the same area. I believe i found both crash sites and looking for more information about the german one.

I found that JG 76 lost two planes on october 03 after dogfight against US Thunderbolt (see book from Fred Trendle "Brennendes land, Der Luftkrieg im Südwesten") on october 03, Uffz Kernchen and Oberfänhrich Von Hoff (Bf 109 G-6 413502, Black 7). I believe Kernchen is the right plane i'm looking for so any information will be welcome.

Hoff has crashed near Mühlhausen, or the french one Mulhouse, or the one seated in Württenberg

Remi,
i'm not sure Von Hoff were shooted down near Mulhouse. It could be Mulhausen, near Haguenau, wich is about 150 kilometer north from Mulhouse.
It seems another Me 109 from JG 76 was downed near Mulhausen. Need to look in my files, but tomorrow. Too late today.

Hi Stephane,

the other loss at Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle on 3. Oct. 1944 was:

Uffz. Heinz Guder, 10./JG 76, Bf 109 G-6, 412581, black 2, shot down in air battle with US-fighters.

Regards,
Uwe
