A new Me 109 K-4

Dear all,

Just found an unknown and very interesting pic of a crash landed Me 109 K-4 photographed in Spring 1945 by members of the 644th Tank destroyer Battalion.

Though the picture is of really low resolution, my first assessment would point to "White or Yellow 9", a machine of 13 or 15. Staffel, IV/ JG 53 (note the apparently black RV Band, though a green one from JG 27 can currently be not totally excluded).
There is a way to solve this riddle: by magnifiying the picture, one can distinctly see on the cowling a unit emblem which has a shield form. It is certainly not the Pik-As emblem of JG 53, but could it be a Staffel emblem of this unit? Or do we have to take JG 27 in consideration?

I just asked to the webmaster of the site for a higher resolution file of this picture. In the mean time, anybody could shed some more light?

La mienne aussi, ce qui ne m'empêche nullement d'apprécier la découverte d'une nouvelle photo d'un type de 109 documenté par moins de 250 photos actuellement...
