On 17/09/1940 a Do-17 from 6./KG 3 K+EP made a bellylanding near Wommelgem Belgium. The crew must have been
Schulz Horst , Harms (WND) and Ensink (WND).Can someone help me with additional information?

No Do 17 crash on that date. Are you shure about the code? 3K is for Minensuchgruppe. As far as I know they did not have any Do 17 only Ju 52/3m.

There are some losses of Do 17 on the 15. of KG 3 with the code beginning with 5K - maybe??????

Regards,

Norbert

Re: Do-17 3K+EP bellylanding

Hi Alain

What Norbert means is that he cannot find any loss of any Do 17 on the stated date what so ever. Neither can I in any second hand source consulted.

To ask the question you must have something more relevant than what you say, so please state your sources and why they are so certain there was a Do 17 loss on Sep 17th and from where crew-details arise and why your source states a faulty side code for the aircraft in question

Cheers
Stig

Re: Do-17 3K+EP bellylanding

Alain,

Perhaps 15-09-1940 more likely with DO-17 5K + EP?
That day KG 3 lost several DO-17s over England, while others made crash landings on return in Belgium...

Groet,

Leendert

Re: Do-17 3K+EP bellylanding

Alain,

The date was September 15, 1940, as follows:

6./KG3 Dornier Do17Z-3 (4237). Damaged by fighters during sortie to London and believed belly-landed near Wommelgem on return. (Bs) Flgr Johann Harms-Ensink wounded in right thigh admitted to hospital in Antwerp. (Ff) Lt Horst Schulz, Uffz Groger, and one other unhurt. Aircraft 5K+EP 15% damaged but repairable.
