Bf110G4 G9+EF

I'm making a 1/48th scale model of Heinz Schnaufer's favourite Bf110, G9+EF (progress in the build can be seen on my website www.ordinarycrew.co.uk under the Models section), however two photographs of Schnaufer with this plane appear to show that it was not fitted with the usual exhausts and flamedampers which, for three of the exhausts, extend back over the wings. Has anybody any further information or opinion about this?
