JU88 Loss over Cyprus 3.2.44

I am looking for more info regarding the shooting down of a JU88 over Cyprus on 3 Feb 1944.
There is a mention of this in the ORB of 127 Sqn but I believe that 127 Sqn were not involved in its destruction only witnesses to it.
The ORB states that 2 prisoners were taken and 1 enemy airman was killed.
Thanks
Andy

Re: JU88 Loss over Cyprus 3.2.44

Hi Andy & Brian

My records show that the Ju88 fell to Flt Lt Boyle and Plt Off Matthews of 154 Squadron.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Brian

Re: JU88 Loss over Cyprus 3.2.44

Thanks Brian & Brian
I had a note to check the 154Sqn ORB next time I was at Kew as there is reference in the 127Sqn ORB that four Spitfires were operating in co-operation with the Squadron.
Thanks
Andy

You might like to see my article on this in Flypast about a year ago as I have photos of the crew, a copy of the pilot's log book, combat reports from the pilots that shot it down

Thanks Chris
I will dig it out I have most copies of Flypast for the last 5 years.
Don't remember reading the article so I bet this issue is one I don't have.
Do you know what month it was in.
Thanks
Andy

Forgot about that Chris' article was in the Wings of the Eagle supplement in the Sept. 2008 issue
