interesting color photos...
...in this link. Many of them I've not seen. It is a real duke's mixture of armies and time. Some appear to be from German Army magazines.

Re: interesting color photos...
I could be wrong but I think most of these are from the German WWII "Signal" magazine.
Kind regards, Rudi. |

Re: interesting color photos...
The German photos appear to come from a series named '' Das Heer Im Grossdeutschen Freiheitskampf '', I was given 45 of these while in Germany in the 1960's. In each corner of each photo. is the name of the PK photographer who took it and under the other corner is '' Foster & Borries Zwckau, Sachsen'' . The former 6th. Army vet. who gave them to me had kept them rolled up in a damp barn, and although most of the photos are in quite good condition the edges and surrounds are torn/stained.
I assume these photos were on sale in Germany during the war and as Rudi says some have been in the Signal magazine. |

Re: interesting color photos...
Astounding! Colour has so much more impact when it includes historic personalities more usually seen in black and white images.

2 fotos taken at Liezen, Austria at war's end
(the fotos are at the bottom of the file, ca. 6th and 7th from bottom)
1) two oficers saluting troops, under gunbarrel 2) Sherman and T-34 both were taken near the bridge over Enns river. The Enns was the demarcation line between Soviets and Western Allies in May 1945. The fotos apparently show the meeting of Us and Soviet forces. My hometown Liezen is in the background of pic. No 1) Thanks alot for the link! Richard |

Re: interesting color photos...
Gentlemen:
And, in case any of you haven't seen them already, here are more, including some LW aircraft: http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en...tart=0&ndsp=21 Out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea what the image of the geese and the JU 52 is about? Sorry if this duplicates links already posted (must be slipping!), but I would love any ideas about the geese and the Ju 52. Cheers Don W Last edited by Boomerang; 6th August 2009 at 12:50.
