German Bomber Crash ID Help
Hi Guys
I am trying to ID a German Bomber that I have some items from and a newspaper report. I have no date or name. Nothing other than its in the Stamford area Newspaper and mentions Northborough nearr Stamford and 6 miles north of Peterborough. Two bombers were brought down in the district at the same time. The pilot of one baling out and landing in the village, possibly Northborough. Taken prisoner by the a Jack Paine an ARP warden. It crashed in a field used as a fairground. It says the pilot was about 30 years of age, and thats all. Been looking through books etc for days, any help appreciated. The newspaper doesn't give a thing away! other than it was either a late June or July edition but the top with the year has been cut off. These items were given to me.
