Re: Luftwaffe losses August 1940

Steve, on Meissner:
did you have a look at Krackers database?
He gives the following:

Meissner, Friedrich R.(?)Hptm7/5/1908

8/KG-40, Kdr I/KG-4 (8/40 Soesterberg Holland)Ju 88A-1 Werk # 3149 (lost 8/26/40)Bomber Operational ClaspChannel pilot. His Ju 88 crashed at Schiphol Holland on 26 August, 1940, cause and pilot/crew disposition unknown, and Oblt at the time. (DeSwart) Either survived to be promoted or promoted Posthumously.

Maybe this helps,
regards
Sealander

Matti, do you have the same information for the a/c that collided with Meissner on the 26th, a/c of Oblt Wimmer?
I believe there was a casualty in this crew.

Kindest regs,
