Re: USAF Claims

You can also find a list without much details on this website:

http://www.au.af.mil/au/afhra/avc.asp

For WWII, it will lack the type claimed, the hour, the location, and so on... all info that you will find in Mr Olynik books.

But the website above might be a good starting point anyway.

Re: USAF Claims

It is parsing the words but Frank is the leading US authority on both claims and credits and the USAF HRC lists only victory Credits which were awarded as a final determination by the reviewing authorities.

Frank has petitioned (successfully) the USAF to update credits from sources lost in the final days of the war or subsequent discoveries (like a mid air collision between a USAAF fighter and a Luftwaffe a/c in which the pilot was KIA or post war POW claims.)

The original USAF 85 was largely updated through Dr Olynyk's efforts and fact gathering.

Re: USAF Claims

While Frank's books are by far the best source(s), unfortunately, the USAAF, USMC, and USN ones are no longer available except through secondary sources like ebay.

Re: USAF Claims

About two years ago, I contacted directly Frank (on this forum IIRC) and he was able to sell me directly some of his books.

Don't know if it is still possible.

Re: USAF Claims

I don't believe I have any copies of my victory lists; there might be a copy of list 7 (RAF 400 Series) or 8 (RAF 300 Series Sqns), but I would have to find them first. I am looking into producing PDF files of the lists, and hopefully some new ones, and selling them as CDs, or as downloads, using the system that Eric Hammel found for his books. Sometime next year I hope.

Frank.
