Luftwaffe Combat Reports
hello, does anyone know if there is a way of finding a specific Luftwaffe combat record? - specifically 1st July 1941, Wilhelm Schmitter's Heinkel III shot down a Coastal Command 206 squadron Lockheed Hudson on reconnaissance near Brest.
any help greatly appreciated!

What specific information are you looking for regarding this engagement.
I have Schmitter's Leistungsbuch however not sure if the entry will contain the information you are requesting. Regards Jeremy

hi, I wanted to see what Wilhelm Schmitter had recorded about this encounter. I know it was a chance encounter whilst both on reconnaissance but wondered what he recorded. The Lockheed Hudson was never found so wondered exactly what the circumstances and events were. thanks for any help!

Let me look through his entries in the Leistungsbuch. I know the victory is tabulated seperately as an Abschuss and the flight entry noted in the general content which noted individual flights. Regards Jeremy

A relative of mine was lost when the Lockheed Hudson was shot down; just interested really. Obviously anything Schmitter recorded or combat report would be of interest. Kara
