Need help with pilot identification

Gents,

I need your help to identify the pilot on the right hand side of the attached image. The photo was taken when this 2 pilots payed a visit to Oblt Hans Philipp, staka 4.JG54, in Guines during BoB. The pilot on the left is identified as Lt Siegfried Schnell of 4.JG2...but who is the other one at the right side?

cheers

Hi Fredo,
thank you for your info. I have been convinced by some other members of the board that this is not Siegfried Schnell. They were quite disgusted about my guess.

Cheers

Re: Need help with pilot identification

Hi Fredo, it's me again.
A very reliable expert of JG54 mentioned instead of Siegfried Schnell it could be Fw Walter Repple of 4.JG54.

Cheers

The guy on the right has a huge schnoz!!! Sorry, not particularly constructive - no idea as to who either guy is.

You know the tell " am der nazes mannes erkent man ..." .... except that Pichon-Kalau von Hofer who is somewhere in the scenery outside of the picture ... no idea!
But but but telling that; there was a LW pilot whose nickname was "nazen", wasn't?

Tschüss, Franck.

Hi Franck, you are quite special, but you are right. There was a outstanding character in the Luftwaffe, Name: Friedrich Karl Mueller, google him under: Nasenmueller.
The elder german phrase is: An der Nase des Mannes erkennt man seinen Johannes. Can't tell weather it counts for Friedrich Karl. But if you look at Franz Eckerle photo during his RK award ceremony my guess that he is the one to the right comes close,
I have to sort that out with an JG 54 expert and let you all know the result.
If you have the complete colour image together with Pichon Kalau, without copy protection, I would appreciate if you could mail me a copy or even post it here.
Cheers
Horst Schmidt

Re: Need help with pilot identification

Hi Horst,

"Special"? Don't judge people without knowing them; life is too short to be THAT serious...
But thank you for german spelling, I'm "out" for such a long time, without practicing...
No problemo, we can do serious things, so I send you my mail by PM. I'm not sure to have it in colour, but in B&W, yes.

Tschöö, Franck.
