Re: IJN or IJA losses in 1943 and 1944?
On 6 Sep 43 the Japanese navy's Air Group 751 sent 17 Type 1 land attack bombers against a convoy off Lae, New Guinea. One ailed to return and one returned to Rabaul badly damaged. A couple others were damaged.
On 28 Feb 44 a 'heavy bomber' was destroyed by sraffing P-38's at Wewak/Central airfield. Some JAAF transport units operated heavy bombers in the transport role but I have no readily available information to give such specifics oin this loss. Rick Dunn |
