Re: Bf110 5h+LK LOST 7-4-44?

Many thanks Matti

Would I be right that Fw BRETT sould be Fw Böck ?

Info I have is that 5H+LK was shot down and burnt out 5km south of Treviso pilot suffered fairly severe injuries, W/T Operator was killed.
This matches with Maj H.H.Green 317th F.S. claim for a Me110 sd 20m E of Venice.

Regards

David

If you are looking for info on 5H+LK, then the pilot is Fw Böck.

If you are looking for Fw Brett, the only one I have in my files is the following:
1944-04-04, 2./JGr. West, FW 44J, 2838, Fontaines-d'Ozillac, 19 km nördlich Bussac-Forêt, Un 15.40 Uhr durch Mosquito abgeschoßen. Bruch 100 %.

Hi,

was this Fw44 the one claimed by W/Cdr.Bob Braham flying a Mosquito of 613 Sqd on a Day Ranger on 4th April 1944 as a Bu131 S.E.of Rochefort ?

Cheers

Dear Matti,
the VDK-Website (Gräbersuche) lists:

Uffz. Daute, Heinz; * 17.3.1920, + 7.4.1944

He rests finally in Costermano (I), grave 8-765

Similar note is printed in Kock, "Kriegstagebuch NJG 6", on page 68.

Regards,
Uwe, Karlsruhe/Germany

Hi,

I thought Bob Braham flew with (and commanded) 141 Squadron. Was this on one of his unofficial "freelancing" patrols over occupied Europe using aircraft from other squadrons?

Not change the subject, but what is the correct designation of the Luftbeobachterstaffel, Luftbeobachterstaffel 7 or 7.Luftbeobachterstaffel? I've seen listed both ways.

The Fw 44J loss presents something of a question because I also have the same machine lost later!

Hi,
it should be Luftbeobachterstaffel 7. The designation 7. Luftbeobachterstaffel did not exist as far as I know.

Regards,

Norbert
