Exclamation Uffz Voekel Oskar and his crew

Hi ,
On may 24 1944 a Mosquito from N° 239 sqdn shot down the Me-110 G-9 from Uffz Voekel Oskar , Uffz Hautzenberger Karl and Uffz Boehme Günther near the Wesertalsperre at Eupen ( Belgium ) . The crew bailed out safe. Can someone help me with some additional info on this crew ?

Regards

Hello Alain,

Seeing that a majority of your questions are nightfighting related I can highly recommend you to assemble/buy some of the wellknown reference works anyone interested in nightfighting has probably already at hand. I was really surprised that you even have not the history of St.Truiden airfield in WW-2 (Vanhee/Celis) which is not far from where you live.

It really pays off to have such books at hand (and it's nice reading too!)

Good luck, Marcel

Re: Uffz Voekel Oskar and his crew

Hello Alain

Suggestions:
- G.Aders, Geschichte der deutsche Nachtjagd 1917-1945
- H.Rökker, I./NJG 2 history
- L. von Eimansberger, Zerstörer Gruppe V./LG 1 - I./NJG 3
- W.Kock, KTB Nachtjagdgeschwader 6
- Meyer & Stipdonk volumes about the ZG's and NJG's
- Wim Govaerts, Nachtspook van St.Truiden
- W.Chorley's volumes about RAF Bomber Command losses (do not use any references to German claims
- C. Dedecker/L. Roba volumes (uitgeverij De Krijger) about the airwar over Belgium

And only if you haven't copies of the Namentliche Verlustmeldungen:
- M.Balss, 2 books: Personalverluste NJG's and Materialverluste NJG's
- V.Scherzer's book which you already have (I sold mine soon after receiving it, no register, sloppy cited names etc.)

This is just a brainstormed list, a search in my library could lead to other publications as well.

Marcel
