jg1 vs 397th bg 23rd dec 44

I wonder if anyone could help me with this. In Jerry Scutts's Marauder units of the 9th air force he describes briefly the attack on B26s of the 397th bg by Bf109s and Fw190s of Jg11 23rd Dec 1944. He also mentions that Jg-1 was involved, having done a bit more research I can't find anywhere else a mention of Jg-1 in this action.
I know that a lot of Luftwaffe units including Jg1 were up in the air on this day but does anyone know if Jg1 was indeed involved in the attack of the 397th and if so which gruppes?

Thanks in advance.

Gareth

Good evening Gareth !

It doesn't seem, that JG 1 was involved into the attack on 397th BG that morning of December 23rd, 1944.

The attack of the German fighter planes lasted between 10:37 hrs - 10:45 hrs right from the Moselle-river to the Eifel and ended in the Belgian-Luxembourg-German frontier area. At least 8 a/c of 397th BG were shot up by a/c of JG 11. But no B-26 claim by JG 1.

Unfortunately, there is no trace or evidence, that any unit of JG 1 was involved in this action. Neither the primary sources nor the secondary sources for JG 1 mention this.

The best source would be Jochen Prien, since he would know most of missions of JG 1 that Dec. 23rd, 1944.

Best regards !
