Ju 87 losses on 03 May 1943

On the 03 May 1943 Kapt. Vasiliy Mikhaylovich Drygin of the 298 IAP flying a P-39 Airacobra along with his wingman shot down two Ju 87 over Adagum and Sheptal'skiy in the Kuban campaign. This happened in the morning time while three other P-39 held off the Bf 109 escort. Does anyone have these losses?

Wrong forum, it should be on the Axis one.

You can find a table of German losses this day over the Eastern Front here:
http://www.airwar.ru/history/av2ww/a...-10-05-43.html

Only Ju 87 lost this day is attributed to Flak, but I have not checked the location.

For those interested, the website above has Luftwaffe loss lists (with no crew names) for 4 months of 1941, 5 of 1942 and 4 of 1943:
http://www.airwar.ru/history/av2ww/a.../luftloss.html

And some more loss lists by type, unit or area there:

Re: Ju 87 losses on 03 May 1943

Laurent, Thank you for the sites you listed. Drygin was an Allied ace that was why I listed him here. He was shot down in 1942 in an I-16 and his legs were injured in the crash and suffered a concussion that caused him partial speech loss. He crawled on the ground towards Soviet lines until a scout patrol found him. It looks like his two claims (his 9th and 10th personal) for the day of Ju 87 got away. His witness was the General of the 4 VA who gave him a medal for his courage after he was shot down during the attack.

Hi guys,

Is it known whether he was Rall's, Haberda's or Waldmann's victory in this particular engagement?

Nick
