Bf 109 G-2 (WNF) W.Nr. 13 485
According to sources SIG Norway and Nordic Aviation during WWII, the Bf 109 G-2 (WNF) W.Nr. 13 485 would have belonged to I/JG5 and was lost,on August 26, 1943, in Norway (unknown location). At the time of the crash (also because unknown reasons) it was piloted by Obfhr. Benno Schmieder who was injured.
According, instead, to another source and precisely "Croatian Aces of WWII (page 49)" and others, the same aircraft was used by Hauptleute Bogdan Vujicic of 15./JG 52 (Kroat) for desert to Russian lines. The aircraft landed on the airport of Russian Byelaya Glina in north east of Krasnodar May 14, 1943 and was seized by the Russians as prize of war.
It's clear that one of this two items is wrong but I have tried all other sources available to me and the Internet for a possible solution of this question but with no luck.
I'm wondering if there might be someone on the forum who can indicate which item is the correct one or even suggest other sources to look in.
Thanks
Freddy
