Need color for DFS Gliders used in airborne assault on Fort Eben Emael, Belgium, 10.5.40

Hello,

Can anybody tell me the color that the DFS 230 gliders used in the airborne assault on Ft. Eban Emael, Belgium on 10.5.40 were painted? There are a very light color like yellow or gray. As far as I can tell from photos these gliders carried no national or unit markings of any kind. Does anyone know different than that?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Regards,

Larry Hickey

You could also look for Georg Schlaug's "Die deutschen Lastensegler-Verbände 1937-1945: Eine Chronik aus Berichten, Tagebüchern, Dokumenten." Stuttgart: Motorbuch Verlag, 1985. 296pp.

" DFS 230 gliders are often overall RLM 02. " ( Grau, greenish grey )
In Les camouflages de la Luftwaffe, Aérojournal HS N°6, p 28, by Jean Claude Mermet.
