Question Norwegian Sq's 331 and 332 duty/task lists

Good day to all

In the ORB's from e.g Sq 331 and 332 in 1944 you will find references to the mission task or duty.
For example: D.D. 484 or D 718 sometimes with a little more info like "bombing or dive bombing"
I suspect that the mission description was given on paper from WING level and most likely from higher level and that the duty/task was described to some detail. I expect at least map coordinates to be included in the order.
Does anyone know if these orders have been filed, where and if they are still available?
Any thoughts?

The history of 331 and 332 Sqn. is now being documented in detail by Cato Guhnfeldt. Six volumes are planned. So far three have been published (360-400 pages each).

This does not answer your question though. But I guess it will be found in Vol.5.

Re: Norwegian Sq's 331 and 332 duty/task lists

I am not sure exactly what the 'D' number is but this is probably the order number.
The second part of the number appears to be a reference to the target.
An example would be on 25.11.44 the ORB lists D.D.949/CD14.
CD14 is the code for the 'Cloak and Dagger' op on the New Pz Barracks at Bussum that was attacked by the whole 132 Wing.
I have copies of a document from the National Archives that lists all the Summary of results for all the CD Ops flown in Late 44. I think they were in AIR37/671 Tactical reports on Special Targets.
The ORB of 84 Group lists that operational orders are in the appendices.
I have not checked these but can be found in AIR 25/711-722.
Hope this helps.
Andy

Andy,
thanks for your answer. But yes, the numbers get higher as time progresses, so it must be the order number. If the numbering was done by Wing or by Group I have not found out yet but I suspect the latter.

Andy,
unfortunately the Air 25 series at National Archives have not (yet?) been digitized. That complicates matters when you want to order a particular part af a file from abroad.
