3 Sqadron RAAF P-40 questions
"Nicky" Barr's Tomahawk serial number was AN 336 letter N that he used for his first couple of victories ,did it have the 'CV' codes on it ?
When were they added? Bottom color of the Tomahawk they used? Thank you for your time. Rick |

Re: 3 Sqadron RAAF P-40 questions
Hello Rick,
From what I have seen on the Australian War Memorial site it looks like the answer could be "No". Barr's first 3 victories were in mid December 41, as I'm sure you know. In November these did not - https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/MED0085/ As of 23/12/41 a/c "W" did not - https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/010926/ But in early January 42 this one did carry the "CV" markings https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/023103/ Perhaps the codes were applied over the Xmas/New Year.
