Hi all,
I've found this device in the aft cockpit of Doenier 17Z. No problem for the translation, but what was the 'Störkörper' and his function?
Sorry, but this is the first time for me I find this device in a german aircraft.

A Störkörper is something like a flare for protection. It is a device to confuse the enemy's a/c by the abandonment of something from your a/c to protect your a/c or your formation.

A good example is the throw of loo rolls out of STUKA's in the first days of the BoF in May 1940, when the formations were attacked by fighters.

This was the first, primitive, use of "Störkörper"
