Top scoring Hellcat Squadron?
In the past it has been stated that 1844 rather than 1839 were the highest scoring BPF squadron by a considerable margin but a look at my database indicates there wasn't much of a difference in their tallies. Although I haven't been able to identify some claims the tallies are 1839 (15+) and 1844 (20.5). With possibly 3 or more to be attributed. I believe the mistakes in the 1839 score comes from not including TW Harringtons kills (leading a flight of 1839 but serving as leader of 5 NFW) and attributing all of Richard Mackie's victories to his service with 1844.
