KüFlGr.406 and Ltn von Kalckreuth (BO)

Does anyone have information they are willing to share re. attacks on UK trawlers by KüFlGr.406 during WWII? von Kalckreuth was BO on He 115 (K6+KH) when it sank the trawler Isabella Fowlie off the Farne Islands on 10 July 1941. Does anyone have pictures/details of him and his crew?

Further to my earlier post re. von Kalkreuth, can anyone confirm that he was later transferred to the Russian Front as a pilot with JG51 'Molders' and was shot down and killed on 3 Feb. 1942?

Bill

I have Oblt Cordt von Kalckreuth a BO being awarded Ehrenpokal 26 Oct 42 whilst the chap killed in Russia was Von Kalkreuth-different spelling. Highly improbable a coastal BO would retrain in the space of 7 months to be a fighter pilot

The guy shot down on 3 Feb 1942 was Wolfgang von Kalckreuth.

Chris,
Thanks for that. I,too, have reservations about the transfer - hence the post. Any indication that Obltn. C v K served with ./406 in an earlier life?

Sorry all I have is he was a BO but the fact that he was thus and the name is not that common, I would guess they are the same chap. Have this on him as well:
Kalckreuth von, Cordt Offizier *20.08.1918 in Strassburg "T 23". "T 25" (Torpedoboat). Crew of 1937a

Oblt.z.S. Cordt von Kalckreuth was taken prisoner after T 25 was sunk by HMS Enterprise and HMS Glasgow in the "Battle of Bay of Biscay" on 28 December 1943.

In his logbook is states that his pilot was Uffz. Ringelmann and another crew was Bonger. They departed Rantum at 1715 hrs and landed at 2305 hrs. The notes state:" bomb and MG attack on British steamer". (It is a very difficult Flugbuch to read)

Regards,

Norbert
