Re: Focke-Wulf Fw 190, Vol. 3: 1944-1945

Just acquired this book and am curious as to others' opinion. It is well assembled and lavishly illustrated, with particularly interesting information on the research and development effort of the F190D. That said, this book has a few "loose ends":
  • on page 718 there is a picture of Erich Hondt's FW190 A5/U12 "Black 13", which the authors list as an A5/U11 flown by him until January 1944. The same picture appears in Peter Rodeike's work on page 178, listed as an A5/U12 and states Hondt was shot down in the aircraft on 8 October 1943. JG11 loss data in Prien's unit history concur.
  • on page 737 an JG11 FW190 with twin 20mm gondolas under each wing is pictured (the R1 series). The last sentence of the caption states "as far as it is known, JG11 was the only unit to be equipped with this variant". Yet, on page 176 of Rodeike's book, JG1, JG2, and JG11 are listed as being equipped with this variant.
  • on page 739 Werner Gerth's "Black 13" is pictured in "July 1944". The authors state the IV/JG3 wave gruppe mark was adopted at this time "replacing the earlier circle". Of course, IV/JG3 had used this gruppe marking long before converting to the FW190.
I'm no professional aviation historian, but if I could catch these errors (and others not listed) what others might be there. Finally, why no bibliography?

It contains much more errors and not just the source of the text missing, but also the source of photos. Pretty disturbing to me, that this volume contains two of my pictures as well, both were printed as low quality scans without to mentioning the source (I own the original negatives, which are perfect quality ones).

Kb and Csaba, thanks a lot for the info! I'm just considering what book on 190D I should buy.
