				WNr III./ JG 52 losses Jul 24- 25 1940
			 Hi: I searching for the WNr of the Bf 109Es from III./JG 52 lost in combat on Jul 24-25, 1940, first two days of deployment of the Gruppe. The Gruppe was in operations only six days by the Battle of Britain, and after so a catastrophic losses(eight Bf 109 and eight pilots losses in two days, one of these POW)the unit was retired of operations and never returned in the West. The pilots of the Bf 109Es were: Jul 24, 1940 Gruppenkommandeur, Hptm Wolf-Henrich von Houwald(KIA) Staffelkäpitan(7./ JG 52) Oblt. Herbert Fermer(KIA) Staffelkäpitan(8./JG 52)Oblt. Lothar Ehrlich(KIA) Uffz.Erich Frank(7./ JG 52)(KIA) Jul 25, 1940 Staffelkäpitan(7./ JG 52)Willy Bielefeld(KIA) Oblt. Wilhelm Keidel(Unit ?)(KIA) pilot ?(KIA) Uffz. Reiss: hit by Spitfires and made an emergency landing at Elvington Court, near Deal and became POW. Thanks |
