Ramrod 250 27 September 1943

Marauders bombed targets around Rouen, including those of 387th Bomb Group. The Hornchurch Wing was part of the escort. Can anyone tell me which of the squadrons had WCdr Crawford-Compton flying in it's ranks? Looking at Wood's lists it looks like 222 Squadron rather than 129 Squadron.

Also which USAAF squadrons were involved? I realise the 387th contributed to the total of sixty-five but there must have been others?

The effectiveness of the escort shows that just one B-26 was severely damaged.

regards

Keith
