Fw 190 A-2 3./JG 2 Tricqueville
Hi,
I have a few questions for this photo. Does anyone know the airport, could it be Tricqueville Airport? I think this is an Fw 190 A-2 from 3.Staffel JG 2. Maybe W.Nr. 20208 ??? (FF Uffz.Rudolf Röbbers) idn't know the number of this plane anywhere-crashed 19.8.1942 According to the photo, these could be numbers: "yellow 3,6,8 or 9" Thank you very much, best regards Tony |

Re: Fw 190 A-2 3./JG 2 Tricqueville
I visited Triqueville last year and have just written about it for Iron Cross magazine. All I can say is the aircraft were dispersed around an apple orchard and these are not apple trees

Thanks Chris,
On the back of the photo is written: Pont-Audemer. The nearest airport was in Tricqueville. |

Re: Fw 190 A-2 3./JG 2 Tricqueville
So it could be a possibility as some Luftwaffe records do say Pont Audemer for Triqueville

Re: Fw 190 A-2 3./JG 2 Tricqueville
Huppertz was appointed Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 2 based on the Channel front on 9 November 1942. So I would guess he might have flown with that plane

Re: Fw 190 A-2 3./JG 2 Tricqueville
Huppertz took command of 3./JG 2 at the start of November 1942 and it is thought that by then they were at Marseilles. Looking at the leaves on the trees, this photo was taken earlier than then
