did He111 Wnr 3035 exist ?

I was shown a plate with the following marking :

"He111 3035"

This number (3035) looks really like a He111 Wnr (4 digits) but I can't find trace of this Wnr,

can someone help me and confirm if He111 Wnr 3035 did exist ?

If yes, what story for this He111 ?

Heinkel WNr 3035 was a He 115 S delivered to Sweden in Sep 1939

If you have something with 3035 that you can tie in with Heinkel it is not a WNr for the entire aircraft

WNr.3033 was also a Swedish He115.
This is some kind of parts plate I think.

I got this comment on my private mail,

"I have seen many of these plates before. I believe the letter ‘L’ after the WNr is for the German word “links” which means left, as in left side. That was done to designate parts that were installed/fitted to a particular side of an airplane. If the right side, then the letter ‘r’ for recht or right was used. Therefore, I also believe that it’s more likely that this WNr is for a part, not an airplane. Main plates for the He111, marked with the airplane WNr, were a different style than the one you show"

so, this is not the WNr.

Did you managed to derust (dérrouiller) that piece? It looks (for me at least) that there are other digits before the 3035 L....and yes, the L now makes sense as links for the Left landing gear, for example.

I have never seen on He 111 books, for instance, where to look for PLATES with the werknummer of the plane. Where to found those? How many the He 111 did have? Maybe the clues you are looking for are on the derusted plate and, additionally onto He 111 manuals and parts catalogs....

I don't have the plate in my hands, it is a friend of mine who found it and sent pictures. When I have it I shall try to clean it.
The challenge indeed is that there are many many plates on a German aircraft and at different places.
As an example, : On a He111 of Legion Condor crashed in January 1939, I found two such plates (see link hereunder).
Yes we should go on site and look for more parts and information, I agree..

Yes, this is not a main plate or W.Nr. of the aircraft. It is most likely a main "component" plate for a Left Wing component...and the number is the serial number of the part it was affixed to.
