Blidflugschule B38 badge

Hi Guys,

Many, many years ago I built a model of Bf110G-2 "DT+MR" WNr 420012 from Blidflugschule B38.
Back then I drew the B38 badge on my computer and now I would like to redo it again in better detail. I tried to find again my reference photo but unfortunately couldn't. Is there anyone here who has a closeup of this badge?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Peter

Peter

First of all I would say the unit was Blindflugschule (IFR training) 38

Secondly there is a small badge shown in Barry Ketley's Luftwaffe Emblems 1939-45

From what I can determine it shows no blue background outside the shield, the griffon is all red
and slightly more elaborate.
Instead of B38 it just have the digit 8 and the two yellow stripes are much darker yellow than
yours.
The reason for the digit 8 is that initially the unit was known as BFS 8 but changed its designation
to B 38 on 15 Oct 1943. Presumably the shield was thus changed from 8 to 38.
If the letter B was inserted, I don't know

Cheers
Stig

Re: Blidflugschule B38 badge

hi,
you´ll find a detail-photo of dt+mr´s crest in "luftwaffe warbirds photo album" vol. 5 page 61. of interest is also the inspription "hpa 12.8.44" oder "Epa ..." on the fuselage side under the pilot´s canopy.
all the best
