Bf 109 production and deployment details for 1940

Hi,

I was wondering about this for a while, relating to the Battle of France and Battle of Britiain period of Bf 109 supply and reserves.

Does anyone has detailed statistics on monthly production figures, preferably by subtype, and number of planes in strategic reserve etc?

Oddly enough, the later variants seem to be much better covered production history than the Emils.. I have not seen a good book or source on Emil production and deployment history so far. Any recommendations?

Re: Bf 109 production and deployment details for 1940

Hello Kurfürst,

Have a look at Die Jagdfliegerverbände der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1934 bis 1945, Teil 3, by J Prien, G Stemmer, P Rodeike and W Bock, page 67 and 68 - Zuweisungen am die Luftflotten und Verbände 1940 from 12.05.40 - 30.06.40 and Jagdflugzeugverluste zwischen Sept 1939 und Juni 1940 --

this might answer some of your questions -

Regards
Rob

Absolutely excellent, thank you, that's exactly the kind of detail I needed!!

One question though, being an ignoramus for Lieferplans : would this table contain all previous Emil production so far in practical terms ?

To find earlier Bf 109 models you have too go to Lieferplans preceeding those I quoted from. I will see what I can find tomorrow, I know I have got them.

Re: Bf 109 production and deployment details for 1940

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking about, as I don't know if there were other Lieferplans in effect in the given period.

I presume for example, that with the 109F entering production in mid-1940, and from the number (112) of DB 601N engined Emils in service on 1 Jan 1941 vs the number of 601N powered Emils ordered in the Lieferplan you just posted (69, and many thanks again), I suspect there was an delivery plan for ordering the rest of 601N Emils dated around mid-1940, likely the next Lieferplan no. I am especially interested in these latter animals production!

Re: Bf 109 production and deployment details for 1940

I enclose an extended production overview for Bf 109A aznd on to Bf 109F-1. From 31.10.1940 I have no such lists until 30.06.1942 and that start with the Bf 109F-4.
