Bf 109F of III./JG 52 damaged in battle over Rumania on 26 June 1941

Recently a pair of photos was listed on eBay that shows a battle damaged Bf 109F of III./JG 52, No. 3 (yellow?), which crash landed on Mamaia airfield, Rumania. The airfield lies on the shores of the Black Sea. In the first days of war on East, there were intense air battles with Soviet bombers that attempted to bomb various Rumanian targets.
Unfortunately (for me), I could not win the photos (they went, again, to Sudek 13).

The aircraft looks like it was seriously damaged, so it must show up on various Luftwaffe loss lists.
However, I found no matching loss for this particular incident.

Does anyone have any details? It would be highly interesting for me for a book project I am currently working on together with two other colleagues.

If anyone has direct contacts with Sudek 13, it would be nice if I could secure some scans for our upcoming book.

Thanks,

Hi, Dénes

The usual sources does not list any losses for the period 21.06.1941 to 01.07.1942 for the III./J.G.52

I haven't seen the photos and thus cannot comment on the identification and or dating of the photoes.

Can you pls contact me off-board Dénes, maybe we can solve this.

Regards,
Andreas

Hi,

I think that this plane was hit by the bomb - there are 2 such losses on the 24.06.41.

Robert

To me, the detail photo shows damage done by bullets, rather than bomb shrapnels.

Do you have any details on the couple of bombing damages you mentioned?

I would say bombdamage too. The prop is undamaged and the aircraft is still on it's undercarriage, yet seriously damaged. That would not have been the case following an emergency landing. The holes in the fuselage looks like they've come from directly to the side, which is unlikely in aircombat as well.
