Me 262 related

Scroll down about three quarters of the page. Two views. One in color showing a distinctive nose coloration.

Re: Me 262 related

The striping looks very much like the standard puttying around the nose cone and I believe it's not really painted. I have seen similar pictures, perhaps even the same plane, in a Me262-wrecks booklet in my collection.

Thanks for the link, Ed.

Hi Ed,

Amazing! The first Me 262 appear to be the well known 111755, but the first time in full color :-) It seems to be a movie still. I am wondering if on the full movie there are even more jets to be seen.....

Thanks for this fantastic find!

Roger

Re: Me 262 related

This web site is for a particular veteran. Apparently, it includes movie stills from his wartime experience. Here is one more image of an Me 262 from the front: http://www.rogue-publishing.com/51st...n,_Germany.htm

There is an email contact address at the bottom of the page.

Glad to hear everyone is enjoying this.

Re: Me 262 related

I agree with Roger and Kyrre. The first jet is 111755, and the second one is not painted, it's putty.

Interesting shots Ed, I would have liked to have seen some shots inside the Mercedes Benz Mountain factory......do any members know of any such photos?

Re: Me 262 related

Scroll back some pages and there is another colour shot of what I believe is W.Nr. 111775 again. This time from head on.

I tought I thaw a puttycat.

The Me262 was puttied and sanded over all rivets and joints before receiving its camouflage. Around the nose there appears to be several rows of rivets that was puttied. Hence the stripes.
