Re: Photos 2-26
Hi Peter,
D-EDES was a Rheinland FR2, the plane is shown here at the ship Monte Rosa during 1941. This ship was operated by the Luftwaffe as a collection point for soldiers recovered from their injuries. |

Re: Photos 2-26
Hallo Merlin
I myself identified this as a Raab Katzenstein minus its lower wings, but I notice the Rheinland was a slightly developed version. Are you one of those in possession of the German civil register at the time or do you nail the type from some other specific point ? Cheers Stig |

Re: Photos 2-26
Hello Stig
you are right, this plane was a further developement of the Raab Katzenstein RK 26a. It is a different plane, but I can not find who build these appr. 5 planes. The full name of the plane was Rheinland Schwalbe FR2. Most of them were used by the Deutscher Luftsportverband at Mannheim and Düsseldorf in the years 1934 to 1937. |

After research... A really rare bird! One of the very few french Hanriot H 220-2 ...as seen at Bourges airfield_1940. Twin engined aircraft ( Gnome et Rhône 14 M_720hp each ). |
