JG 51, victories were marked for Günther Lützow, and aircraft was previously photographed with his Kommodore markings.

Re: me 109 lots of kills

If it is the same Bf 109F-2 of Luetzow, and not just a transplanted rudder, the machine does not appear in the Gen.Qu. losses. I seriously doubt that he was flying the machine in these markings.

Re: me 109 lots of kills

And I repeat, the kills were Luetzow's, the rudder, if not the whole plane being one he flew in Sep/Oct 41 as temporary Kommodore for JG 51. For whatever reason, the rudder was never overpainted when it and/or the machine were passed on to another unit.

Re: me 109 lots of kills

If its not just a transplanted rudder I would expect that the aircraft WNr. was 9704, that of Luetzow's well-known JG 51 Kommodore machine from October 41 (also a plane that I theorize Luetzow inherited from the 'real' JG 51 Kom. Friedrich Beckh who was hospitalized, I think, after a foot wound became septic). Unfortunately the WNr. can't be read/verified in the attached scans.
